The Buddha began his lifetime of teaching by giving attention to the truth of human suffering. Through understanding the causes of suffering he showed the way to unbounded peace, love and compassion. The unique insight of the Buddha was into the emptiness of separate self; the elaborate self-identities we construct are actually the root of suffering. The joy, love and inter-connectedness we seek develop through letting go of this clinging. This release can be a gentle and compassionate journey, which opens our heart to all of life. In this retreat, through instruction, meditation, Dharma reflections and guided practices we will explore the heart of these teachings of freedom in our own experience.

This retreat is recommended for people with some foundation of meditation practice.

There will be an optional Feldenkrais movement session (Awareness Through Movement) taught by Janet Maxwell.
