Do you wish to further your involvement in your Dharma community?

Volunteering is a great way to develop long-term relationships with the community and the organization. It can promote a sense of belonging, and it’s an opportunity to practice generosity. It can also be a way to learn about the inner workings of our activities and develop new skills. In general, we organize volunteers in teams so you can connect, share tasks, and support each other.

Call for Volunteers:

Prison Meditation Program

Since 2011, a group of volunteers has been meditating with a group of inmates at the Federal Training Centre of Laval, Quebec, who wish to discover and practice the Buddha's teachings. The group is led by a teacher or peer-leader who guides a sitting practice, followed by a Dharma talk and discussion.

These sessions happen three Wednesday evenings a month, from around 5:00 - 9:00 pm including travelling time, all the year round.

The prison meditation program is supported by the Chaplaincy Services of Correctional Services Canada.

If you are interested in joining this group of volunteers and are looking for more information on the program, please email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and indicate "Prison Meditation Program" in the subject line.

Here is a personal testimonial written by a volunteer who has been with the program since it began.
